Czech Republic records over 2 000 000 trade license holders in the first half of 2025

What numbers are telling?

In 2025 Czech Republic witnesses the continuation of entrepreneurs taking advantage of the country’s many favours for starting a business. On the territory of state in the first half of the year were recorded rising 45 959 trade license registrations. Ukrainians and Slovaks are noted as being most occurring nationals in business activities’ initiations.

Czech Credit Bureau reported a strong start from the first two month of 15,431 individuals, with the continuation of a steady inflow of business incomers. In months of January – February  recorded a net increase of 7,268 entrepreneurs, which already equals 80% of the net gain in all of 2024, coming with months of March – April with over 6 000 openings. Based on previous statistics, the figures are notably higher compared to the same period last year.

What are favourable sectors?

Most occurring sectors include information technology, construction, logistics, private education, and property services. Many entrepreneurs are attracted to these industries since the growing demand in the country’s rapid infrastructure development, digitalization efforts, and service economy. The IT sector thrives on freelance work and offers low entry barriers, while construction and transport benefit from steady government and EU investment. Additionally, private tutoring, cleaning services, and real estate management are attractive due to consistent consumer demand and flexible licensing. These sectors are particularly favorable for foreign entrepreneurs seeking low setup costs and operational flexibility.

What are the considerable advantages?

Czechia offers several compelling advantages for people registering a trade license. With a streamlined, low-cost registration process, favorable flat-rate tax regimes, and lower social contribution requirements compared to Western Europe. Entrepreneurs benefit from minimal bureaucracy, access to a skilled workforce, and full integration within the EU single market. Strategic geographic location and lower living and business costs make Czechia an efficient base for serving clients across Central and Eastern Europe. These conditions make it especially attractive for freelancers and small business owners seeking flexibility, affordability, and growth potential.

A Smart Gateway to Central Europe

Czechia offers a welcoming, cost-effective route to expand your business. A Czech trade license can open doors not just within the country, but across the wider EU market. For Italian entrepreneurs seeking less bureaucracy, lower costs, and strong regional demand, Czechia might just be the perfect place to build something new.
