Traveling in the Czech Republic

Traveling in the Czech Republic

The Czech Government has finally made it possible to enter the Czech Republic for unnecessary purposes. Therefore, traveling in the Czech Republic will also be possible for tourists starting from today, 21st June 2021. The European Passport will enter into force on 1st July 2021.

Traveling to the Czech Republic until 21st June

Traveling in the Czech Republic has so far been a possibility only granted to those who have a strictly necessary motivation. A certificate (contract, medical prescription, etc.) was required from the border inspection to certify the reason for travel.

New rules: from 21st June

From today, 21st June 2021 you can enter the Czech territory even without any reason. However, it will be necessary to fill in the online form indicating your entry to the Czech authorities and submit a certificate (necessarily translated into English) attesting to at least one of the following conditions:

  • vaccination has occurred, after 22 days if only the first dose has been received, or after 14 days if the vaccine has been administered;
  • the negative result of an antigenic test (maximum 48 hours before departure) or a molecular test (maximum 72 hours before departure);
  • a medical certificate attesting the recovery from Covid-19 for not less than 14 days and not more than 180 days.

The certificates of Italian vaccination or other EU countries (in English) will be accepted until 30th of June. Instead, from July 1st onwards, it will be necessary to submit the EU Digital Certificate.
