In fact, the giant Gazprom is blocking supplies to PGNiG (the leading company in the Polish natural gas market) and to Bulgargaz (the largest Bulgarian company in the natural gas market), after both refused to proceed with payment in roubles. Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala has spoken out, condemning the Russian initiative, and as far as supply to the Czech Republic is concerned, he says that there is no evidence to suggest a possible blockade.<\/p>\n<p>However, the government is taking a number of precautionary measures to ensure the gas supply necessary to meet the needs of households and businesses. According to Industry and Trade Minister Jozef S\u00edkel, in the face of a possible and tangible blockade, the Czech Republic has a stockpile of over 900 million square meters of gas.\u00a0 However, due to the strong dependence the Czech Republic shows on Russian gas, the first foundations are being laid for attempting a visible split. In the meantime, according to analysts, there is still no alternative source capable of covering all needs. For this reason, in the event of a supply disruption, it may be necessary to adopt a consumption regulation. At the last summit of EU leaders, it was agreed that by 2027 Europe would find a solution to achieve real independence from Russian fossil resources. Prime Minister, Petr Fiala stated that:\u00a0 &#8220;There are several ways: finding other gas suppliers to the EU, strengthening terminals and facilities for the supply of liquefied gas.
