The change will take place thanks to a government amendment that was approved by the Senate with 51 votes out of 52 members present. The law is now in the process of being confirmed by the President of the Republic, after which it will enter into force seven months after its publication in the Official Gazette: presumably at the beginning of 2023, considering that it will most likely be published in July.<\/p>\n<p><strong>According to the amendment, there will be a 5 percent reduction in the contributions paid<\/strong> for workers employed from 8 to 30 hours per week, and in any case not more than 138 hours per month. Moreover, this reduction will only be applicable if the pay is no more than 150 per cent of the average salary. The categories of workers entitled to this reduction include: employees over the age of 55, parents or guardians of children under the age of 10, disabled persons, secondary school and university students, and unemployed persons undergoing retraining; the reduction will also be applied to workers under the age of 21, for whom it will also be possible to apply it for full-time contracts; part-time work will therefore not be a requirement for this category to be able to apply the reduction.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The aim is to be able to support entry into the labour market<\/strong>, with particular reference to secondary school graduates and trainees.
