Accountants Mission in Prague

The initiative ‘Accountants and enterprises towards foreign markets’, organised by AICEC with the patronage of the National Council, offered networking and training opportunities to Italian accountants interested in the internationalisation of enterprises.

The new mission of Italian chartered accountants, organised by AICEC (Association of Internationalisation of Chartered Accountants and Accounting Experts) with the patronage of the category’s National Council, kicked off in Prague and ended on 1 June. The initiative was part of the Association’s training activities and was designed to offer members of the Register interested in the internationalisation of companies networking opportunities and the acquisition of specialist skills on the economic and professional reality of the Czech Republic.

On 30 May, the delegation of accountants was a guest at an event organised in the Czech Parliament building by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic. The event, entitled ‘Driving innovation: present and future of Mobility. Italian-Czech business day on trends and challenges of the sector’, was attended by representatives of the local institutional and business system, the Italian ambassador in Prague, and several Italian and Czech companies.

On 1 June, a seminar was held on the opportunities offered by the Czech Republic and on professional meetings. The Italian delegation took part in a conference in which issues relating to trade between Italy and the Czech Republic were analysed. Speakers included Giovanni Gerardo Parente, President of AICEC; Danilo Manghi, President of the Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce; Agata Cacciotti, ITA Representative of the Prague office; Andrea Fiori of VUB Bank – Intesa Sanpaolo Group; and Alessandra Moscone, AICEC Councillor and coordinator of the ‘Country Guide – Czech Republic’ working group.

This was followed by the round table ‘Doing Business in the Czech Republic. Opportunities and relevant aspects of trade with Italy’, aimed at analysing commercial, financial, contractual and tax aspects. Participants included Luca Savino of Savino and Partners, Mario Moretti of Horizon Consulting, and representatives of the Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce and the ITA office in Prague.

The discussion highlighted how the Czech Republic offered interesting prospects for foreign investors. The strategic geographic location in Central and Eastern Europe was a competitive advantage, as were the skilled labour force and the good infrastructure framework. In addition, the economic consolidation measures being implemented in the country and prudently managed tax policies further enhanced the attractiveness for investors.

On the occasion of the mission, the Council and the National Foundation of Chartered Accountants – Research, in cooperation with AICEC, published the volume ‘Business Guide Czech Republic’. This publication, which can be downloaded free of charge, was divided into five sections: presentation of the country, starting a business in the Czech Republic, the taxation system, labour and human resources, industry and trade, thus providing a useful tool for anyone interested in exploring the opportunities offered by the Czech market.

The initiative strengthened the skills of Italian accountants in the international arena, opening up new opportunities for collaboration and investment. The mission to Prague highlighted the strategic role of the Czech Republic as an economic partner, thanks to its favourable conditions and institutional support. These meetings and publications represent a significant step towards greater economic integration and sustainable growth for Italian companies on the global scene.
