New anti-Covid19 measures for traveling to/ from the Czech Republic with a focus on Italy

The Czech Republic divides the countries of the rest of the world into different colors corresponding to a different degree of the contagion risk level. For each color, there are different rules for travel to/from the Czech Republic. Italy in this “traffic light” system, like many other European countries, has a light red color, indicating a high level of risk.

UNVACCINATED
travelers traveling to the Czech Republic from Italy or other Red listed countries must behave according to the following measures:

  • BEFORE DEPARTURE:
  1. fill out the online form https://plf.uzis.cz/;
  2. present the negative result of a PCR test carried out within 72 hours prior to departure. The hours are lowered to 48 before departure for holders of a residence permit in the Czech Republic.
  • AFTER ARRIVAL:
  1. carry out a second PCR swab between the fifth and seventh day after arrival and, while waiting for the result, always wear the FFP2 mask, without a valve, even outdoors.

Before departure and after arrival, are exempted from the test obligation, all travelers with:

Measures for travel from the Czech Republic to Italy

From December 16, the rules on travel to return to Italy will be more stringent, in fact in addition to the mandatory compilation of the Passenger Locator Form (https://app.euplf.eu/#/) it will be necessary for EVERYONE to have a certification attesting to the result of a PCR swab carried out in the 48 hours prior to entry into Italian territory or an antigen carried out in the 24 hours prior to entry into Italian territory. In addition, for those who do not have the EU digital certification, certifying one of the two conditions that has been vaccinated, with completion of the vaccination cycle for at least 14 days or recovered from Covid in the last 6 months, they will have to undergo the 5-day fiduciary isolation, at the address indicated in the PLF, and carry out a second swab, antigenic or molecular, at the end of the isolation period. Children under the age of 6 should not undergo the swab. In the Czech Republic, the EU Digital Certificate can be downloaded from https://ocko.uzis.cz/portal.

However, it is important in case you travel through airlines, check the requirements of the latter to avoid unpleasant inconveniences before departure.
