Foreign Trade Czech Republic: after the decline in production and trade due to the coronavirus pandemic, in May of this year there was a significant increase in exports. According to preliminary data from the Czech Statistical Office (CZSO), the Czech Republic’s foreign trade ended in May with a surplus of CZK 6.3 billion.
Sectors concerned
Foreign Trade Czech Republic: the economic sectors that have experienced the greatest growth in exports are cars, computers, and optical and electronic devices. Exports increased by 41.6% to CZK 334.3 billion. On the other hand, imports increased from last year by 38.6% to 327.9 billion Czech crowns.

“The trade balance ended with a positive result for the 12th time in a row, for the first time since the Czech Republic’s accession to the EU,” said Miluše Kavěnová, Director of CZSO’s Foreign Trade Statistics Department. In addition, the value of exports exceeded the total amount of imports, mainly through the trade-in motor vehicles.
