As Covis-19 cases are increasing all over the country, Health Minister Adam Vojtěch said that from the beginning of November in the Czech Republic bars and restaurants will have to check the health status of customers once they are seated. The obligation will neither apply to who will take away nor for the restaurants in the food courts of shopping centers. Restaurant staff will forbid the entrance or services supply to anyone who does not have an electronic or paper certificate attesting to full vaccination, recent Covid infection, or a valid negative Covid test. The police or public health department may intervene if a guest refuses to present proof and will also be punished for presenting a false document.
Covid tests will no longer be free: they must be paid starting from the 1st of November and they will remain free only for people under 18, those vaccinated or to those who are halfway through their vaccination, or for those who cannot be vaccinated because of a contraindication.
Tests ordered by doctors or public health authorities will also remain free.
Reduced Quarantine Time: The government approved that the quarantine of those who have been in contact with a Covid-infected person will be reduced from 14 to 7 days beginning October 25, if terminated with a negative PCR test.
Czech lawmakers also decided that respirators will be mandatory in all indoor premises, including workplaces, starting October 25, making an exception for people working alone in an office. Currently, the respirator requirement applies to stores and public transport. To enforce these directives, the government introduced a 10,000kc fine for failure to wear a face mask.
