The Czech main transportation company established its subsidiary in Italy
Škoda Group, one of the largest manufacturers of cars and rail vehicles in the Czech Republic, organized a conference in Florence talking about the future of streetcars in urban centers, arguing that in the future tramway will be important in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Mayor of Florence Dario Nardella and regional councilor for transport Stefano Baccelli attended. They discussed issues on how to sustainably improve the vitality of historic cities in Tuscany, the future of mobility between needs, urban limits, combined strategies, and future plans. At the end, mobility and viability solutions that ensure the best sustainability, livability and safety for citizens were proposed.
The mean of transport streetcar, as it has been talked about, is a modern and efficient infrastructure and a symbolic example of virtual mobility, which will drive itself in the future thanks to the latest technology. Battery-powered vehicles will become increasingly popular in cities, which, in addition to being environmentally friendly and sustainable, will be able to move more quickly in historic centers with narrow streets.
In fact, on Friday, October 28th, the company opened its subsidiary in Florence. Olesea Lachi, longtime Group sales manager, became managing director of the branch. In doing so, Škoda strengthens its position in the international market. In Italy, it will offer a complete solution: from the production of streetcars to the production of individual components, to the delivery of complete vehicles and their subsequent maintenance. There was similar situation when it entered the German and Finnish markets, achieving excellent results.
