From January 17th it will be mandatory to swab all employees twice a week, even those categories that were previously exempt, such as vaccinated or recovered.
The Czech government has approved the proposal to make tests mandatory for all employees at least twice a week, starting January 17th.
The measure will also cover the vaccinated people covered by the three doses of vaccine and those recovered from Covid-19. Until now the tests were only mandatory for employees who did not fit into these two categories.
Employees in smart working and who do not work in contact with people remain exempt. The tests are equally mandatory for self-employed workers who come into contact with other people and for business owners.
There is a reimbursement of expenses of 60 crowns for each test performed. In companies, mostly antigen tests are used.
Employees who do not want to undergo screening can still be admitted to the workplace while maintaining certain precautions, not before being reported to the public health offices.
The measures these employees must follow are:
- Wear FFP2 masks
- Keep a distance of at least 1.5 meters from other people
- Eat meals in separate places
The Czech Republic, as is well known, came out of the state of emergency proclaimed on November 26, 2021. Companies, on the other hand, as stated by the daily Pràvo, cannot force their employees to vaccinate, but still retain the right to adopt measures to reduce the risk of contagion in the workplace (such as screening, smart working, and division of employees into groups)
